Know Your Options If you have been sexually assaulted:
Your immediate safety is first. Try to get to a safe place. Contact a friend,
relative, teacher, neighbor or someone else who can give you the emotional
support that you need.
Contact a victim service provider. Most areas have a facility that can
provide you with support and assistance. You May Call:
Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) (800)
656-HOPE
RAINN is the nation's only toll free sexual assault hotline. This number will
route you to the nearest victim service provider based on your location. It is a
24-hour crisis line and all calls are confidential. You may call from anywhere
in Arizona.
You may also wish to seek medical attention. If you choose to report the
assault to the police, do not shower, change your clothes, eat, drink, smoke, or
urinate if possible.
If you are in immediate danger, dial 911. If you are not in immediate danger,
but would like help, dial the Crime Stop number for your area:
These numbers will dispatch a patrol officer to your location who can help
you. You may call one of the above numbers even if you have not made the
decision to press charges against the offender. You will have an opportunity at
a later time to decide whether to press charges.
