All About AZ Sexual Assault Network
As a statewide collaborative network, the most significant aspect of our work will be fostering Regional Leadership Councils across the state. This is an effort to receive feedback on the needs of those who work directly in the anti-sexual violence field. We want to involve survivors, prevention specialists, direct service providers, law enforcement, the judiciary, advocates, probation, prosecution, offender treatment, forensic nurse examiners, and any person who has an interest in addressing sexual assault issues in our state. AzSAN wants to build a network that is of, by, and for the people who do this work. With this guidance, our network can develop policy initiatives and respond to any training or technical assistance needs that arise.
Mission
The Arizona Sexual Assault Network (AzSAN) is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit operating in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women.
Our mission is to identify and address sexual violence issues through a collaborative statewide network.
Vision
To achieve a society free from sexual violence, AzSAN functions as a collective voice to reduce the threat and mitigate the effects of sexual assault in our state.
Background
Founded in 1998, AzSAN was born out of Arizona's great need for a statewide sexual assault coalition. The organization was incorporated in 1999, and is currently headquartered in Tempe.
