About Arizona's Advocacy Centers
Advocacy centers were created more than a decade ago, based on the premise
"together we're smarter" when responding to victims of violent crimes. These
centers are designed to provide comprehensive victim services, while improving
the investigation and prosecution of family violence. Efforts are made to
accommodate citizens with special needs, as well as multi-lingual populations.
Some advocacy centers located throughout Arizona are designed to provide on-site
services to child victims of physical and/or sexual abuse or neglect. Some
centers provide services to both children and adult victims of sexual assault,
domestic violence and/or vulnerable adult abuse.
Referrals to the centers come from community service providers, Child Protective
Services, Adult Protective Services, and law enforcement.
